For whatâ??s it worth todayâ??s Wall Street Journal (January 21, 2004) has an article on page 4 of Section D about software that improves you ability to quickly load web sites. According to their tests the â??NetZero HiSpeedâ? dial up service can provide you with, to quote the author, â??the feeling you get with a midrange broadband systemâ?. The author documented download speeds of 350 kilobits per second. It is actually not that fast as they go on to explain the software compresses and caches data to make it seem that fast.
Iâ??ve used the Great Lakes service on and off the island and the only problem I have is that my e-mail inbox is purged on a regular basis without my knowledge.
