I just saw her go by. The island and the boat company owe the crew a huge debt of thanks for the terrible hours they've had to put in. As a stockholder, I'd like to ask that they be compensated for their efforts. It's not a boat company without the crew!

I pay half again as much for electricity on the island as i do downstate plus the outrageous fees for meters. What will you do for the island?

I think we need to do something. We pay twice as much on the island for electricity as we do down state because of the added charges and that's not including our geothermal system. I wonder if buying electricity from another source is an option.

One third of our bill has nothing to do with energy usage. We sent an email as well. We pay for a power plant so GLE can sell power to the mainland. When was the last time the Island actually needed it?

Congratulations to Pete and Paul on their re-election to the Peaine Township board. It was an interesting campaign and I'm proud of the voter turnout. Now it's back to work to make the Island a better place. If we work together, it can happen.

Gotta agree. All this 'he said, she said' isn't getting us where we need to go. It's time to put that aside and all of us come together for the betterment of the island. It's time to look at issues, not personalities and actually discuss what needs to be done, not who did what and when.

I can't imagine anyone is against having island wide cell phone service. This would be a huge benefit for our safety and our economic future. Our township boards need to step up to the plate and do what's best for the island. There is absolutely no excuse for not making this happen. If Verizon see u...
