Hi. I signed up for Starlink a while ago as an alternative to cable internet services. There is an interesting video about it on this thread. When I signed up they said it would be available mid to late 2021. It might be worth looking into for those that are fed up with TDS.

I believe the best way to save the island is to find a way to lower taxes and ferry costs. If your budget can only afford a micro home you may not be able to pay $200 round trip for your car and $65 round trip per ferry ticket to get here! Still, it's worth looking into if it helps Beaver Island.

I just skimmed through the BIMP document. It is very informative and well written. I am a seasonal resident. I wish I could have attended the input session since it concerns all residents. I agree that the Beaver Island ferries are top-notch.The Block Island boat you mentioned is the largest of the fleet (which I am sure burns a lot more fuel than the EI!) but they have smaller vessels comparable to the Emerald Isle. Block Island and Beaver Island have so many similar characteristics....

One more thing to add to the equation... The ferry terminal at Point Judith is a much larger piece of property than the Charlevoix terminal. I am sure they pay a lot more property taxes than the BI ferry does. So that adds to the cost of the Block Island ferry costs for sure. For instance: Little 10...

Since the price of fuel has dropped significantly, will there be a ticket rebate instead of the usual surcharge? When my brother, sister-in-law and 2 little kids come to the island (with vehicle), it costs...

My Uncle, Chuck Dunlevy, gave this to my son (who collects Monopoly games). It's from the Toy Museum and was bought long ago.
